Not much Mexican food in hawaii so always nice to sample some of the good stuff on the mainland. This place was highly recommended and almost feels like a must go when in town if you like Mexican food. Setup has lines based on protein and other orders with a cashier after you get your food. It can be as cheap as you kike or you can go all.o8t and drop some coins for lunch. Pork and tongue were especially ono with the asada having the most "bbq" fired flavor. Would make it a point to come back.
🌮🔥 If you’re looking for some of the best tacos on the Strip, this is the spot. It’s busy, a little chaotic, and you might have to wait—but it is 100% worth it. The meat is packed with flavor, the tortillas are fresh, and they absolutely load these things up. Our favorites are the quesadillas don’t sleep on them—meat and melted cheese sandwiched between tortillas is hard to beat. This isn’t the place you come for fancy dining—you come here for seriously good, authentic tacos that are messy in all the right ways. Come hungry, order more than you think you need, and grab plenty of napkins.
What can I say? Amazing. Food is fresh. And everybody has their own meat preference, and they have different lines with different boards hanging above you; look up and get in line. My partner and I enjoyed the self-serving drinks too, and condiments were laid out. It’s a good spot after a long night out, even a quick stop, a drinking social gathering, and just a good time. Hope y'all have a seat or take out some tacos here; it's a straightforward, simple treat. They have their identity here, and they own it.
After an overnight stay at a nearby hotel, I decided to pass by Tacos El Gordo and what I chose was the Carne asada fries. I didn't eat anything the day before so when I ate the Carne Asada Fries, the taste of the food hit, highly recommend the Carne Asada fries for those nearby. The system of ordering food is easy to comprehend, 1st order food then pay at then cashier.
Love the smells and sounds of the meats grilling as you enter. The busyness of the cooks taking orders, flipping meats and handmade tortillas, and dicing steaks to fill each taco is truly an adventure for your senses. We got a number of bistek/asada and lengua tacos, which were topped with fresh cilantro, onions, and guacamole. The chargrilled flavor in the bistek/asada tacos is still lingering mouth as I write this. The tenderness of the lengua only required just a couple of chews before disappearing. The best final bites I could’ve asked for before leaving Vegas. My only complaint is that the salsas left much to be desired. Perhaps an intentional move but they were more watery than flavorful.
