What’s not to love about touring around to visit national parks? Nothing! That’s what. In 2020 I did a lot of road-tripping. I drove more than 8000 miles between August and October. One of the many places on my list to see was Bryce Canyon National Park. I wanted to see the red rock canyons and formations. The skies were blue. The temps were hot but thankfully the soft breeze cooled it down a little. There were groups of people taking the canyon trails down into the valley. We weren’t feeling that adventurous and we had our American Akita with us so it was a no go. The views were exceptional. The rock formations were really cool. We drove in and out of several areas of the park to check out the park and red rock from different angles. It was pretty cool. The visitor center was informative too. Highly recommend!
Bryce Canyon is such a beautiful and unique place to visit! One of the things my husband, teenager son & I really enjoyed is how easy it is to get around the canyon. Instead of having to drive from one viewpoint to another, you can simply take the shuttle, which makes stops around the park in a convenient loop. We picked up the FREE shuttle from our hotel outside the park. You can pick up your Annual Park Pass (per family) at your hotel or REI ahead of time. Just show your pass once to the shuttle driver on your way into the park We visited during the summer, and it can get pretty hot and sticky, so the cool, comfortable shuttle was definitely a nice bonus after walking around the viewpoints. We did a nice flat hike from Inspiration Point to Sunset Point. My husband liked the incline hike from Bryce Point to the decline to Inspiration Point. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with the incredible hoodoos creating views that feel almost otherworldly. A beautiful and easy-to-explore national park that is definitely worth visiting! 🌄
This canyon is absolutely stunning from its hombre colored formations to its rich, red and earthy toned structures. I experienced this park in early April 2026 - temperatures had plummeted to -9 Celsius or 15.8 degrees Fahrenheit overnight. The gray skies and snow flurries added a fantastic contrast to the redness of the hoodoos. It wasn’t without some sunshine and blue skies so I had the best of both worlds regardless of the temperature which was above zero during the day. This park not only offers amazing views, it also provides the hikers experience, a lodge and a campground. With so much to explore, a return visit is a must but for those who want a quick day trip - this will not disappoint!
This National Park is amazing. Stunning views. Amazing trials. We took horses down into the canyon and it was amazing. Taking the switchbacks on the Navajo trail down to the canyon was great going down, but a little rough with the elevation gain back up. But it was worth the trip and through Wall Street. Amazing views 10/10!
Bryce Canyon National Park is one of the most beautiful and unique places I have visited. We did it as a two-day trip from Las Vegas, stopped at Zion for a short visit on the way, and then continued to Bryce Canyon. We stayed outside the park near Bryce Canyon City, where most of the hotels and restaurants are located, which was very convenient. The best part of Bryce Canyon is the viewpoints and the hoodoos. We started near the visitor center area and drove through almost all the viewpoints along the scenic drive, all the way to Rainbow Point. The drive itself was so good, and every viewpoint gave a different look at the canyon. The hoodoos were amazing and honestly felt out of this world. It makes you wonder how these formations were even created because they look so different and beautiful in person. We also went to Sunset Point for sunset, and it was absolutely amazing. Sunrise and sunset are definitely something you should not miss at Bryce Canyon. The weather can change quickly though. When we visited in September, it was very cold and windy near the higher viewpoints, and we even had rain and some flurries, so it’s better to be prepared with layers. Even if you don’t do big hikes, you can still enjoy this park a lot just by driving to the viewpoints. If you have extra time, hikes like Navajo Loop and Queen’s Garden would make the experience even better.
