Did a staycation here because I had to work downtown for first Friday. Let’s start with parking, it’s just bad. They have a parking garage that is full and has not even handicap parking available in it. Most of the available parking is next to the parking garage. Check in was easy especially if you start the process online. They have a shorter line for VIP members and also ppl who start online to check in. The rooms was a bit dated but the rooms rate were lower than most but the resort fees were as much the room was. The pool was nice and kid friendly. We enjoyed the fireworks they had that on Friday night. Pink box donuts were stale. So save your money. They are usually on point. The staff I encountered were nice. If they fixed parking and updated the rooms they could get 4 to 5 stars. But for the money we spent it was good.
I really enjoyed the weekend. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was nice to have an affordable parking lot nexr door which was a better choice than trying to find street parking. It is at the beginning of Fremont Street Experience with fun street performances. The Steakhouse is call Oscar's Steakhouse. Oscar's Steakhouse has an affordable 44 ounce Tomahawk Steak that was perfect for sharing with the Lobster Mac and Cheese. The hotel was refreshed recently. I will stay again.
The Bad- upon checking in- the person at the front desk was not really warm and engaging. The room in the south tower was old (not like the YouTube vids we watched) Soap dispenser was empty in both the sink and shower. Called staff initially the guy came up and just handed us the soap- we asked- “can you fill it?” Which we are glad they did because a key was required to open the dispenser! So service was horrible. The shower room was extremely tight. The good- the room was quiet! I had requested a quiet room and got it. The folks at the sportsbook were really helpful and the crap table folks were really nice. Oscars did not disappoint! While the room was cheap- the resort fees were high. It was our first time at the Plaza, I am a frequent Vegas visitor (Downtown) and probably won’t come back here.
We stayed in a luxe king room, room 1923. This room was recently remodeled and what an improvement over the old rooms. More elec and cable plug ins. Bathroom is now larger and much nicer. Don't care for the frosted glass barn door. Bathroom light is very bright in the bedroom when its dark out. Room is very quiet and close to the elevator. Must call housekeeping to have them service the room. We primarily play video poker, and mainly at the main bar (great bartenders). And I hit 3 royal's there in 24 hours (incredible). While the pay tables could be better it's more comfortable than where they just moved the main bank of games which is now located against the center wall. There are 2 large vents blowing cold air on you. Servers are pretty prompt and overall take great care of you. Didn't bring bathing suits this time. Oscars is very good. Hash house needs to warm they plates before serving so the food is warmer. Hosts do take great care of you too. Wish they would follow Boyds and treat video poker better.
My wife and I stayed here recently after purchasing an all-inclusive package. We normally stay on Fremont when we visit Vegas, but for some reason have never set foot in the Plaza before this stay. Really enjoyed our time there. We did our research on the available food and drink offerings with the all-inclusive package before we booked, so there were no surprises when we arrived. The complete check-in process was less than 5 minutes, the staff (Precious) was very helpful and knowledgeable. Our room was very clean and tidy, looks like it had been recently updated. Our only complaint about the Plaza was the narrowness of the shower. Pretty small. Very good selection of food and drink choices at the location. Won some money playing blackjack at the casino too. Then my wife gave it back to the slot machines. Gotta teach her how to play video poker. Thank you for your hospitality. This visit to The Plaza will definitely not be our last. We will see you guys again soon.
